Paper dolls in fabric

I

I had a great day playing with fabric. The Paper Doll quilt  by Shiny Happy World designs is so fun and is just like playing paper dolls only with fabric. Choosing the fabric for the different parts of the doll is so fun. I have a lot to do and need to stitch around the edge with black thread for the last two.  The stitching is a straight-stitch about as close to the edge I can get without going over the edge.  The background is quilted on batting before the doll is fused down.

English Paper Piecing on-going project and MSQC stars

Still working on my English Piecing Project. I may be 2/3 of the way done with the top, but it is slow going. For a break, I have to switch to a sewing machine project which is the most relaxing thing for me. I love to put a piecing project together. It is like working with a puzzle, and I can get so involved that I lose track of time and place. This weekend I got two stars from a Missouri Star Quilt Company project completed and have most of the centers done as well. Playing cards this afternoon and I have a bus trip on Tuesday. It is nice to be retired, but I find I have less quilting time than used to have when I worked every day.

A little history and older quilts

I am adding some earlier quilts I worked on with the Scholarly Stitchers - a quilt group at the Kansas State University Library.  I started this group with a friend, Julie Rashid, in 2001.  We met almost every week where I taught techniques until many in the group became really good quilters on their own. We made several quilts for fund raisers for the library through the years.

Things I have neglected to post this last year.

I have been so bad about posting things I have done or been working on for the last year.  So I will just add pictures.
